Week 5: Almost Time

What up friends and family. Another week as a missionary is down! I have officially been a missionary for a month and 1 day which is crazy to me. Next week is my last full week here in the MTC. Mixed emotions for sure but getting to the field is gonna be great. Im super close to everyone here so it is gonna be tough to say goodbye to everyone. I should be getting my flight plans to Chile any day now. My district is starting to speak strictly in Spanish as much as we can everyday which is fun but frustrating at times. Our teacher makes us do a 5 minute wall sit for every time we speak in English. My legs are gonna be jacked by the end of mtc hahaha.

Elder Lords left to the field this week so we said our final goodbyes. It was a sad but more of a happy moment cause we know a mission is what we need to be doing right now. It's gonna suck not seeing him at the Mtc but we are both way excited to get out there. This week the water to our house shut off so we didn't have water for 3 days. It was awful. We couldn't shower so kids were using wet wipes to clean their entire body hahaha. Thankfully tho the other day we all woke up to nice water in the showers and it was a glorious day for all of us. Also my good friend Elder Hamblin made it to Peru and I'm so hyped for him.

This week I studied a lot about Joseph Smith and the restoration of the gospel. I have always had such a strong testimony of Joseph Smith but now studying him while as a missionary I know him so much more. Because he had the faith to kneel down and pray the rest of us got this beautiful gospel. I testify of the power of prayer and invite you all to talk to your Heavenly Father everyday. I relate to Joseph Smith a lot and whenever I read about him I get an extra push to keep trudging on.

We had a live broadcast from the Provo Mtc this week and it was amazing. It was Elder Bednar and he talked to us about repentance. Every missionary training center from around the world was watching it live. At the beginning it showed little video clips of each mtc around the world. It was cool to see the Ghana mtc and the Brazil mtc and then when it showed the Mexico mtc we all stood up and started cheering. And right after us they showed the Provo Mtc and we all started booing haha a little rivalry going there.

That's all I have for the week I love you all and can feel your prayers everyday. Hope everyone has a wonderful week.
