Week 10: Venezuelans

What's up friends and family. Another week down here in Chile. This week I probably felt every emotion in the book. There are great days and there are days that arent so great but that's the mission for ya hahaha. Elder Workman and I are very hard working obedient missionaries but this week we took it to the next level. I really feel like the only time I have to rest is at night when my head hits the pillow. My companion and i always remind eachother to see people wearing white. This basically means see everyone as a soul that needs to he saved and baptized. So we dont let one person walk by us without hearing our message. Elder workman pushes me everyday to become a better missionary and a better disciple of Jesus Christ. I am literally fasting from the world for 2 years strictly for my Savior. The mission is teaching me so many lessons and I wouldn't want it any other way.

While contacting this week we knocked on a random door. When the door opened probably 10 kids under the age of 5 run out. Anyways an adult invited us into the house so we helped herd the kids back into the little house for a message. There are like 3 different families in this little house and so many kids. They are all from Venezuela and moved to Chile last year. They are super cool and super receptive. One son named Adrian probably 19 yrs old was super super interested in our message and wanted to learn more. So this week we passed by a couple more times and taught him more to the point where he wanted to get baptized. We were so hyped for him and even set a date. Then unfortunately 2 days later we came back for another lesson about the word of wisdom. We told him our bodies need to be clean for baptism. He then pulled out 2 packs of cigarettes from his pocket and said he's been smoking since he was 10. This broke my heart cause I knew he wouldn't be able to be baptized if he didn't stop smoking. Anyways we removed his date but I have faith that with our help he can quit smoking and be baptized. Pray for him por favor.

Also this week there was a stake activity with the primary kids that we got to help with that was super fun. I love talking with the kids that are like 4 years old because we both can barely talk and communicate haha. We are working with our ward really hard rn in helping inactive members return to church.
Also buzzed my head this week lol.

The missionary work here in Chile is thriving and I'm so glad I can be apart of it. Thanks for all the prayers and messages. God lives
