Week 13: First Baptism

Fam and friends! Can't believe im already writing another one of these. I had my first baptism this week and wow what an experience. Really don't know how to put the experience into words. We started the day with cleaning and filling up the font which was very exciting but very slow. Also I had to put the program together which was fun but crazy. I was calling every person in the ward possible to give testimonies and give little talks for the baptism. Somehow every member in the ward was busy that day but finally I got two great members to give a talk. Also passed by the relief society presidents house and asked her to bring some snacks for after.

Maximo lives with his mom and his little sister. The rest of his family are all super catholic. We had a few lessons with Maximo when his uncles and aunts were at his house. They are not super fond of lds missionaries. Anyways a tender mercy that happend is that when I was waiting in the chruch for everyone to arrive for the baptism, I saw Maximo walk in and behind him were every single one of his his aunts and uncles and cousins. A miracle in my opinion.

The baptism was a super spiritual experience. When I walked into the font with Maximo I looked up and saw all of maximos family watching with big smiles. It was moment where the veil felt very thin. It made me think of the rest of máximos family in heaven waiting for him to be baptized. It made me think of my family and how lucky I am to be able to live with them forever. Probably the most spiritual moment in my entire life. I really don't have words. All I know is that there are a lot of people in Chile that don't know they can live with heavenly father and with their families for the rest of eternity. This is what's been giving me the extra push to wake up early, knock one more door, talk to one more person. This is the reason I'm in Chile. To share this message. God lives.
