Week 14: Tumbes
Fam and friends! Hola a todos. Im currently writing this letter on a little bus with Chilean music blasting so vamos hahaha. I learned a lot this week. We had a lot of investigators that we have been teaching that are so great and such good people but weren't progressing. These families always invited us into their homes and loved talking to us and learning more about our church. But sadly weren't keeping commitments and we had a few drop lessons. This means you basically tell them if they aren't going to change or try to change then we gotta stop coming by. Anyways had a few of those this week which is sad but it's okay. We need to find the chosen and elect that are going to change and are looking for a change. But other than that this was a great week. I am starting to learn how to teach. I always thought I knew how to teach the gospel but out here its super different. You need to explain at a level that the people will understand. I'm always learning how to follow the spirit. Without the spirit missionaries wouldn't be able to accomplish anything. In preach my gospel it talks about how learning to follow the spirit is like learning a new language. It takes practice and time and a lotttt of prayer. Looking forward to the next 21 months I have to practice recognizing and following the spirit.
My companion Elder Randall is the District leader of my district. Yesterday we were contemplating what we wanted to do for our district activity for pday. A member told us a while back that we had to visit Tumbes. Tumbes is beach town at the end of the peninsula of Talcahuano. Anyways we remembered this recommendation and started researching. The mission rule is that you can go anywhere on your pday as long as it is within an hour of travels. So we mapped it with our phones and it was literally 59 minutes in a bus. Long story short we took our entire district to Tumbes. Took some dope pics. Ate some incredible sea food and now we are all heading back to our areas. What a day.
Love you all. God Lives
