Week 23: A White Christmas
Merry Christmas everyone! Hope viejito pascuero brought you all some great gifts. I always imagined what Christmas would be like on the mission and now I finally know. And surprisingly it was a lot better than i thought it would be hahaha. I don't have too much time to write this but ill try to fit in all the highlights and experiences of this fun Christmas week.
To start, I ended up having a white Christmas after all. There is no better white than Gods children in baptismal clothes! The sister missionaries had a baptism and I had the opportunity to go and help Felipe and Andres with the ordinance. Always an amazing experience in the font.
We had the multi zone conference this week which was super fun. We did a little nativity and it was super fun to sing all the Christmas songs together Made me feel just at home haha. Throughout the week almost all of our lessons were focused on the birth of Jesus christ. Being a missionary during Christmas time is unreal. Everyone is open and wanting to feel God's love. It makes our job as missionaries a lot easier hahaha.
Christmas in Chile isn't anything like in the states but it gets the job done! Chileans basically celebrate Christmas on the 24. They eat Christmas dinner as a family at like 9 at night then wait till midnight and then they open all their presents. Ig they can't wait till morning hahah. Anyways me and Elder Randall got invited to eat Christmas dinner with a super sweet family in the ward. It was nice to be in a families house during Christmas. We ate some sea food for the appetizer some turkey/chicken type of meat for the main course and then some nice cheesecake to finish the meal off. I'll always be grateful for the Familia Ortiz!! I also got some super sweet Christmas gifts from some of the members. Was hard to be away from the fam but genuinely felt alll the love from my people here in Chile.
Overall was a Christmas to remember! Crazy to think I only have one more till I'm back. We have transfers next week so there's a chance I'll move areas and get a new companion. Super excited for what's in store! I love this GospeI. I love all of you. And I love Christmas in Chile! Happy holidays fam and friends. God Lives
