Week 28: And He Went About Doing Good
Hola hola amigos y familia! Had another great week in Chile! I think I've gotten to the point in the mission where all the weeks are great. Hope i didnt just jinx myself haha but let's get into it.
First of all the church announced the new youth theme of the year. It is "I'm a disciple of Jesus Christ". So during my studies this past week I've had that theme on my mind and what it means to me to be a disciple of Jesus Christ. The first thing that comes to my mind when I hear disciple of Jesus christ is the apostle Peter. I have always loved Peter and the faithfulness that he showed to his Savior. I also can relate to Peter a lot. He had his struggles and mistakes but he always turned to his master, and in the end, died as a great follower and representative of Jesus Christ.
God has given us so many examples that we can follow. He has sent us amazing prophets and people to show us how we should live our lives as followers of God. But he sent us someone more important than the rest... his beloved son Jesus Christ. If we want to be disciples of Jesus Christ we would live our lives like he lived his. I love the scripture in Acts in the New testament that says "Jesus of Nazareth went about doing good". A scripture so simple yet so powerful. I invite you all to find ways to be a disciple of Christ. Find attributes of him and how you can put them in practice during your week.
Nowwww a little bit about my week. We are still teaching this family of 5 that we found the other week. It's an incredible experience teaching a family. Right when we walk through the door, all the kids run and circle all the chairs up to listen to us. I always had the oportunity to give a few different priesthood blessings to a few members that were sick this week. Still amazes me the power of the priesthood.
But my fav part of the week was that me and my companion went and gave the sacrament to a nice old lady that can't come and take the sacrament at church. Her daughter takes care of her and asked if we could come bless and pass her mom the sacrament. My first thought was really your mom really can't just come to the church you guys live right across the street. But kid you not that this was the oldest person I have ever seen in my life. 98 years old!! I couldn't believe it. She was so sweet. And the spirit was incredible strong in that house. An experience I will never forget.
Hope u all have a great week. If you have time send me a little update of what's happening in your life!! I love you all. God lives
