Week 32: Milagro En Talcahuano

Hellooo everyone! I had a great week and I'm excited to share a few experiences with you. I'm still loving my new area. We are finally starting to get settled in. We are getting to know all the members and have found a lot of people to teach which is awesome. You really can't complain when you are living in a little city in the hills alongside of the ocean haha. I hear about Elder Hamblin dying in 100 degree weather in peru. Elder Judd freezing in North Dakota. And Elder Lords fighting off snakes in the jungle of El Salvador. I guess i don't have it too bad here hahahaha.

One miracle that I want to start off with is what happened in my other area that I just left. I have mentioned in a few other emails that we put a baptism date for a family we were teaching. I found this family in the street and had been teaching them for almost all of my last transfer in my other zone. But as you know I got transferred to a new area. But this week 2 of the sons got baptized! It's crazy to see how talking to people in the street really can lead to them being baptized. I couldn't return to my old sector for the baptism because my new sector is super far buy my bishop from my old ward sent me some pics so we are good. I'll put one below.

There is one more cool experience that i want to share from this week. I am district leader so that means when other missionaries in my district have a baptism, I get to interview the person to see if they are ready and worthy to be baptized. So this week two hermanas in my district had a baptism so I got to travel to their sector and interview their amigo. Super spiritual experience. The questions are simple stuff like "Do you believe that Jesus is the Christ" and "Do you believe the church was restored by Joseph smith". But at the end there are some questions a little more serious like "have you ever committed a felony or serious crime". When I asked the man if he'd ever committed a serious crime he paused and didn't say a thing for 15 seconds. He then said "well there is this one thing" in that moment I thought for sure thought he was gonna say something crazy. He then told me he drove without his license one time. Hahaha with a sigh of relief I told him don't worry and that he will still be able to be baptized. He passed the interview and was baptized the next day.

The gospel of Jesus Christ continues to amaze me every day. My knowledge of Jesus Christ and that he is my savior strengthens every time i open the scriptures. I love this gospel and the knowledge and comfort that comes from it. Love you all. God lives
