Week 35: Power Of Prayer
Que tal fam and friends! Ive heard march madness is starting up! But I don't care much because I'm in love with soccer now. After spending 8 months with Latinos they start to rub off on u.
This week I prayed a lot. I prayed that the hearts of the people in Tomé would soften and that the people would listen to us. After a long week of rejection my prayer was answered. There is a guy named Alan that had a baptism date with other missionaries awhile back. When I arrived here everyone basically don't me he isn't interested. But this week we felt like we should send a message to a member to invite him to church. So we did anddddd he came to church. I was super hyped to see him in the church and all but I knew I needed to talk with him more before he left. Right when church ended he got out of his seat and starting heading toward the door. But I made sure to sprint and cut him off before he could leave hahaha. We talked for a sec then I asked him "Alan why arent you a member" and he told me he never really felt ready and never got around to it. I then told him that I saw he had a baptismal date awhile back and asked him if baptism is still something he wants to do. He looked at me and said "yeah I think so actually". I then told him we can start preparing him to be baptized in 2 or 3 weeks and he looked at me and said "Can we do it this weekend". I couldn't believe it!! We talked a little more and put his date for the 23 of this month.
I know God hears our prayers. Sometimes it takes longer than planned to get our answers but they come. Please pray for Alan and that he can prepare himself to be baptized. This church is true. God lives.
