Week 36: Alans Baptism
Helloooo family and friends. Espero que todo esté bien con ustedes! We had transfers this week so I didn't get time to write so it's been a minute since I've wrote one of these. I'll let you guys know transfer news in the end of this but we have some important stuff to cover first.
Alan entered into the waters of baptism this week! One of the biggest miracles I've seen out here so far. Literally a week ago I didn't know. He came to chuch one day. I introduced myself. Then we invited him to be baptized. He said yes. We reviewed everything and did his baptismal interview to make sure he was ready and worthy. Then he was baptized. All in one week. As a missionary we always hear that people are ready to be baptized and that they are just waiting for someone to invite and support them. This was my first experience where I really felt it was like that. For all of u that are serving rn use this as reminder that the field really is white and ready for the harvest. And we as missionaries have the privilege of helping in this grand work.
His baptism service was so great. I even got to sing a little solo for a special musical number which was fun. It was the first baptism in the ward for a minuteee so all the members were super excited. Had zone conference this week too which is always great to see all the friends from the mission. Also we traveled to a hospital this week to give a guy in my ward a blessing. I realized I knew good Spanish when I had to talk to 7 stages of security to get us through the hospital hahaha.
Now transfer news. My time with Elder kinnard has came to an end. I learned a lot from him. He's probably the most humble genuine kid I've ever met. We were a good team. But he got transferred and is leaving and I received Elder Gonzalez from Mexico!! He's so great and has already taught me how to cook a few Mexican dishes. I'm gonna have a great transfer. We are excited to get to work and start saving souls! Ily all. God lives.
