Week 42&43: Sonyas Baptism
Good morning everyone! Hope everything is going great back in Idaho. Once again I had another great week here in Chile for many different reasons. But the favorite part of the week was the baptism of Sonya!
We found Sonya in the street about 3 weeks ago. She told us she was going through a hard time and was looking for a job. Right there in the street we shared with her Jacob 2:18 "But before ye seek for riches, seek ye for the kingdom of God."
And here we are 3 weeks later and she is a member of the church of Jesus Christ. The baptism service was incredible. We did it on Sunday right after church and basically the entire ward stayed to support her. The chapel was packed! She invited all of her catholic family members to come and they all came. It was a miracle cause they don't get along with the "mormons" hahaha. And after the baptism they told sonya that they felt the spirit and want to start coming to church. Also we had one of the young men from the ward that is preparing to go on a mission baptize her!
Also one of our other friends Pamela is gonna get baptized this Sunday! I have been teaching her for the last 3 months and she finally is ready and accepted to be baptized. Pray for her and that everything will go smoothly.
Last thing that I have today is about transfer news. Elder Gonzalez got transferred to a different part of Chile:(
He has been the best. He didn't just help me with my Spanish and cooking skills but he taught me how to be a better disciple of Christ. I received Elder Milius from Haiti!! He is the only Haitian in the mission and he got here like 3 months ago. He is 25 years old and got baptized only 2 years ago. His testimony is super powerful and im grateful for the opportunity i have to learn from him. We are gonna do great things together!
Love and miss u all. God Lives
