Week 56: City Life
Holaaaaa a todos!! Hope everyone is having a great week:)
Here in Concepción central has been great but also crazyyy. It's been an incredible week and I'm grateful to be able to share a few highlights of the week with u all.
Like you can all imagine living here in a huge city is a big change from living on the farm in Preston idaho hahaha. It's hard to fall asleep to loud music and cars beeping but I'm starting to adjust. The way to work and find new people to teach here is also super different. We knock a lot of apartment buildings and talk with a lottttt of people in the street. Most of them live in literally any other part of Chile expect my area but hey all of God's children have to be baptized hahahaha.
But with all the crazy things happening we were able to put a baptism date for young girl named Emely! Her grandparents are members but super inactive. We have been working with the entire family and they all came to church for two weeks in a row and emely should be baptized this weekend! Pray for her.
Had a liders counsel with all the zone liders and sister training leaders which was great. The Concepción Zone has a culture of not baptizing much just cause we are in the city. But me and my companion are looking to change that!!
To finish with a little thought that I've been studying this past week is a talk by Elder Christofferson called The love of God. It changed my point of view on a lot of things. He teaches us that God loves is unconditional but the blessings we receive and the salvation isn't. Many people say " God loves me how I am" and that is certainly true. But He cannot take any of us into His kingdom just as we are, “for no unclean thing can dwell there, or dwell in his presence.”
This talk made me realize how important missionary work really is. We are preparing all to return to gods presence. Also helped me make the changes necessary to keep preparing myself for the day Christ comes again.
Love and miss u all. God lives.
