Week 75,76&77: Merry Late Christmas
Feliz Navidad!!! Y feliz año nuevo!!! A little late. I hope everyone has had a wonderful holiday season. Here in Linares we had a White Christmas even tho it has been like 90 degrees every day. We got to see our dear friend Priscila dressed in white for her baptism!! What a special experience that was. Definitely will be the president of the relief society one day.
For Christmas eve we spent the evening with the incredible Ortiz family. And they invited the sister missionaries and other elders as well so it was extremely fun. We made gingerbread cookies and listened to Christmas music. I felt right at home. It was a blessing being with a family for Christmas.
Unfortunately the mom and daughter that we were teaching that were about to get baptized this week got hit with a lot a lot a lot of opposition. Her family came to visit for the holidays and found out she was coming to church with us and I'm guessing told her a lottt about the church cause the lesson we had after she told us everything was going too fast and wants to stop meeting with us.
Probably one of the hardest and saddest parts of my mission so far. They were so close to doing something so great. But I know they'll be baptized one day. After that I was pretty discouraged but God blessed us with a new family! We are now teaching a husband and wife with 2 little kids that came to church with us. God continues to impress me.
During my mission I have really came to know and understand the doctrine of baptism. Every problem any one has or will have can be resolved with baptism. I have seen people do 360 in their lives thanks to the promises we make at baptism. It's the only way to return to God's presence. I invite you all to reflect on the promises you made at baptism. Reflect on the promised blessings as well.
That's all I got for today! I love u all. I've got less than 6 months in the mission so pray I finish strong!! God lives.
