Week 10: Venezuelans

Image
What's up friends and family. Another week down here in Chile. This week I probably felt every emotion in the book. There are great days and there are days that arent so great but that's the mission for ya hahaha. Elder Workman and I are very hard working obedient missionaries but this week we took it to the next level. I really feel like the only time I have to rest is at night when my head hits the pillow. My companion and i always remind eachother to see people wearing white. This basically means see everyone as a soul that needs to he saved and baptized. So we dont let one person walk by us without hearing our message. Elder workman pushes me everyday to become a better missionary and a better disciple of Jesus Christ. I am literally fasting from the world for 2 years strictly for my Savior. The mission is teaching me so many lessons and I wouldn't want it any other way.          While contacting this week we knocked on a random d...

Week 9: Life's Good

Buenos Días from Chile! I'm starting to get the hang of things here. This past week I've felt more comfortable with the language and everything honestly hahaha. I'm finally settling in and starting to enjoy the work. The month of September is a huge month of celebration for the Chileans. The 18th of September here is basically July 4th in the states. Music blasting from every house. Meat and bread cooking everywhere. Drunkies on every corner. It's a great time. Every lesson this week has ended with the investigator walking out of the kitchen with arms full of food for us. I'm definitely gonna be gaining weight here if I don't be careful. During lessons we will be teaching a lesson and my companion will just stop talking and look at me till I talk. At first I hated it cause I can barely talk and it was awkward. But I realized it has helped me so much and I'm gaining confidence. Now whenever he looks at me I'm ready and can usually talk about and add m...

Week 7&8: Vamos Chile

Image
I made it to Chile baby. The past two weeks have been nuts I don't even know where to start. My flight landed in Concepción the first of September in the afternoon. We got picked up by the mission president and had dinner at the mission office. Then that night we stayed in a hotel. The next morning is when I found out who my companion and what my area is. It was literally the NBA draft. All of us new missionaries sat in the front and all the trainers sat in the back. Then on the screen a picture of a trainer shows up and every one drumrolls then the picture of the new missionary shows up and everyone goes hype. My companion is Elder Workman from Oregon. He has been out a year and is great at Spanish. One thing I have learned about him is take his name seriously. He works so hard. The second we got done at the mission office that morning we took a little bus ride to my area, dropped off my bags, then were out on the streets working. He is teaching me so much al...
