Week 32: Milagro En Talcahuano

Image
Hellooo everyone! I had a great week and I'm excited to share a few experiences with you. I'm still loving my new area. We are finally starting to get settled in. We are getting to know all the members and have found a lot of people to teach which is awesome. You really can't complain when you are living in a little city in the hills alongside of the ocean haha. I hear about Elder Hamblin dying in 100 degree weather in peru. Elder Judd freezing in North Dakota. And Elder Lords fighting off snakes in the jungle of El Salvador. I guess i don't have it too bad here hahahaha.         One miracle that I want to start off with is what happened in my other area that I just left. I have mentioned in a few other emails that we put a baptism date for a family we were teaching. I found this family in the street and had been teaching them for almost all of my last transfer in my other zone. But as you know I got transferred to a new area. But this week...

Week 31: Los Cerros

Holaaa!! Hope everyone is doing great. My first few days here in Tomé have been wonderful. But first thing I'm gonna say is that the hills (cerros) are killing me. My area is right on top of a hill so we are literally climbing to get to our lessons haha. But the view makes it all worth it. My other area in Talcahuano was a lot nicer and felt more like I was in the states cause I was in the city. But here in Tomé it's like a little home grown town. All the members here own their own little tiendas and bread shops. They are all bakers and chefs and gardeners haha so let's just say I'll be eating good for the next little while.         Also had my first Sunday here in the ward and I love the people already. Super humble christ like people. But sadly I had to reject a bunch of kisses from the old Chileno ladies:(       I've already had a super spiritual experience here. To start I introduced my self in sacrament meeting to ...

Week 30: Tomé

Hello fam and friends! A lot has happened this week so I'm super excited to update you all. To start, my time in Talcahuano has come to an end. We had transfers this week and I got transferred to an area in Tomé. It was super sad saying goodbye to all the people in my other area. They were really like family and it felt like I was leaving home again. They all told me that they are gonna come to my house in Idaho and eat potatoes with me so looks like I'll be seeing them soon. 4 of our friends that we have been teaching are going to be baptized on the 24. So I was super sad having to leave right when all of our baptisms are. But I realized they aren't my baptisms they are God's. Had to humble myself a bit haha.       I said goodbye to Ian and gave him one of my ties to remember me. He then told me he was gonna wear the tie I gave him every day when he gets on his mission.        My new area is great. I got called as a Di...

Week 29: La Familia

Hola a todos. Hope everyone is doing great! Love and miss u all. Elder Winlow and I had such a great week. Gonna be a little short this week due to time but let's get into it.        I don't remember if you all remember about the family I said we found a week or two ago buttt this week we had 3 lessons with them. Andddd we put a baptismal date for all of them! They are so humble and love when we come by to teach them. I feel like they have genuinely been waiting for missionaries to come by for years. I'm super grateful God put them in our path. So José and his kids are gonna be baptized the 24 of this month. We are also gonna put a baptismal date with another kid from an inactive family so we are excited about that as well.       This transfer has been flying by. We already have transfers next week so the next time I send one of these out I could have a new comp and area. I would love to stay another transfer so I can be here ...
